About

Statement

My most recent series is about finding joy and connection in a world not suited to our nature.   Other work depicts slice of life stories of inanimate objects or the feelings of things considered to be without emotion. Basically, all of my paintings are about color and form.
Painting allows me to quiet the incessant analytical voice in my head. I paint intuitively, starting with a sketch of something representational. Then I let it go where it wants while I play, enjoying the sensation of applying oil paint to canvas and the surprise of how it ends up.  Coming from a sense of play, laughter is always an appropriate response to my work.
